Self-Portrait

This piece was inspired by the film ‘Paris,Texas’.

I experimented with taking photographs of a figure behind a sheet of glass with ink poured over it, to create a mirror-like surface with interesting reflections.

I developed my process of using glass and ink by placing a photograph of myself looking into a mirror under the glass and creating bubbles over the top. This technique of layering creates the feeling that the figure is just out of reach.
